Migraine Treatment Options
According to the National Headache Foundation, 14 million people suffer from migraines but remain undiagnosed. Getting an accurate diagnosis is an important first step to getting the migraine pain relief you need. You have many options. But remember, only a doctor can tell you if you suffer from migraines
There are 2 basic types of migraine-specific therapies — acute and preventative. Acute medications are designed to relieve a migraine after it starts, and preventative medications are designed to help eliminate or significantly reduce the frequency of a person's migraines.
TREXIMET is an example of an acute migraine treatment. TREXIMET is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks in adults. It is a combination of the ingredient in IMITREX (sumatriptan) and naproxen sodium (an NSAID). TREXIMET should be taken at the first sign of migraine pain — headache experts recommend treating at the first sign of migraine pain for best results. However, you should always take your TREXIMET as instructed by your healthcare professional.
Ask your doctor if TREXIMET may be right for you.
