Be Prepared at Your Appointment
Since time with your doctor is often very limited, it's important to be prepared for your appointment. Take a few minutes and write down the answers to the following questions. That way, when you meet with your doctor, you'll be ready to discuss your symptoms.
- How many migraines did you have in the last month?
- Did you have nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light and sound during your migraines?
- How long did your migraines last?
- Could you still participate in your daily activities, or did you have to lie down or reduce your activity level?
- Did you take something to treat your migraines? If so, what?
- Did it take all the pain away?
- Did it relieve your nausea or sensitivity to light and sound?
The more specific you can be, the more likely it is that you'll receive a medicine that will help relieve your symptoms. So be sure to review these questions before you visit with your doctor.
