Q: What is TREXIMET?
A. Prescription TREXIMET is an FDA-approved treatment for acute migraine attacks in adults. It contains 85 mg of sumatriptan and 500 mg of naproxen sodium.
Q: Will TREXIMET work for my migraines?
A. In clinical studies, TREXIMET was superior to the ingredient in IMITREX® Tablets at relieving migraine pain. TREXIMET is a combination of the ingredient in IMITREX (sumatriptan) and naproxen sodium (an NSAID). Results may vary, so you should talk with your doctor to see if TREXIMET is right for you.
Q: When should I take TREXIMET?
A. TREXIMET can be taken anytime during a migraine attack. Headache experts agree that it's best to treat at the first sign of migraine pain. Always take your migraine treatment as instructed by your doctor.
Q: What if I do not have TREXIMET with me when I have my first migraine symptoms?
A. Headache experts recommend treating at the first sign of migraine pain; however, TREXIMET may provide migraine pain relief even if migraine pain is already moderate or severe. Results may vary. Always take your migraine treatment as instructed by your doctor.
Q: Are there any side effects?
A. In 2 clinical studies, TREXIMET had a low incidence of side effects. The most common side effects reported were dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, chest pain or discomfort, and pain or pressure in the neck or jaw. These side effects were generally mild and didn't last long. This is not a complete list of side effects. A. If you need more than what your insurance normally covers, talk to your doctor. If appropriate, your doctor may send a letter of medical necessity to your insurer explaining why you need your monthly drug allowance increased.

Important Safety Information about IMITREX® (sumatriptan succinate) Tablets
IMITREX is a prescription medicine for the acute treatment of migraine attacks, with or without aura, in adults. You should not take IMITREX if you have certain types of heart disease, a history of stroke or TIAs, peripheral vascular disease, Raynaud syndrome, or blood pressure that is uncontrolled. If you have risk factors for heart disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or are a smoker, you should be evaluated by your doctor before taking IMITREX. Very rarely, certain people, even some without heart disease, have had serious heart-related problems when taking IMITREX.
If you are currently taking other medications or if you are pregnant, nursing, or thinking about becoming pregnant, you should talk to your doctor before taking IMITREX. If your headaches are not migraines, IMITREX is not for you.
